I served as Director of Photography and Art Director on this atmospheric, sculptural music video for Let Me Get There by Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions, featuring Kurt Vile. Hope (best known as the voice of Mazzy Star)asked me if I can help on the project and my role just grew from there. This haunting piece blends physical sculpture, digital collage, and surreal transitions into a dreamlike visual world.

I shot the live video elements, including green screen work for both singers, in a small San Francisco art studio. The project blended my cinematography with the digital artistry of Ben Smith (XLVI), surreal sculptures by Ron Sandoval, and a richly developed concept from Barry Bödeker.

The end result is a layered, sculptural video that feels more like a moving painting than a traditional performance piece—a perfect match for the song’s pace and tone.
